Praying through First Samuel, Chapter 2 – Letting Go

I’m excited to announce a 31-day marriage prayer series hosted by my friend and fellow blogger, Davonne Parks, The Tidy Mom. The series is taking place here at MarriagePrayers.today for the entire month of October.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We want to love You so much that we dedicate our entire lives to Your service.

Help us to trust that You’ll take care of those we love the most. We don’t want to hold so tightly to our loved ones that we refuse to let them serve You as fully as they can.

Show us how we can help each other and others to grow, and guide our hearts so we can know when it’s time to release our grasp on someone we love.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

“Moreover his mother made him a little coat, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice. And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, ‘The Lord give thee seed of this woman for the loan which is lent to the Lord.’ And they went unto their own home.” 1 Samuel 2:19-20, KJV

Each year his mother made him a little robe and took it to him when she went up with her husband to offer the annual sacrifice. Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife, saying, ‘May the Lord give you children by this woman to take the place of the one she prayed for and gave to the Lord.’ Then they would go home.” 1 Samuel 2:19-20, NIV
