Praying through Proverbs, Chapter 22 – Train Up A Child

Praying through Proverbs, Chapter 22 – Train Up A Child

Dear Heavenly Father,

We’re losing young souls to the world at a devastating rate. Help us see what role we can play in training children, whether at home, at school, in our neighborhood, or in our church.

We want to show Your love to youth as we encourage them to draw closer to you. Give us a desire to set aside our own wants and wishes, even when we’re tired after a long day or week, so we can spend time investing in the children around us.

Maybe we need to give a young couple a night off so they can refresh while we watch their kids, free of charge. Maybe we should offer to teach a Bible class. Or perhaps we could open our home to those within our neighborhood so they can have a safe place to play and relax while we gently teach biblical principles.

Help us make sure we’re not doing anything that may cause spiritual harm to any little ones within our care (Matthew 18:6), whether it’s something major like intentionally causing harm, or something that feels minor such as gossiping in their presence. We want to be a true blessing as we bring honor to Your name.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
