Praying through Proverbs, Chapter 8 – Heeding Instruction

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for establishing wisdom before you even established the earth (Proverbs 8:22-31). We understand that part of being wise is respecting those who are in authority over us.

We’re asking you to grant us wisdom and to help us honor those in positions of authority. We know we need to do this without compromising Your Word, so please show us the way.

Let us see how we can heed instruction and be a light. We want to do our best to honor You at work, at home, and within the church.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. Proverbs 8:32-33, KJV

Now then, my children, listen to me; blessed are those who keep my ways. Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not disregard it. – Proverbs 8:32-33, NIV
