Today’s Marriage Prayer – A God of Impossibilities

June 19, 2020 by Darlene Schacht

A God of Impossibilities

Marriage Prayer – A God of Impossibilities

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank You, Lord, that You are in control of our lives. And we thank You that You are a God over impossibilities. For all of the situations around us that seem impossible, Lord, we know that through You all things are possible.

For friends and family who are sick, we pray for their healing. For those struggling in their marriages we ask that you strengthen their bond. For those who are unsaved we ask that You would draw them to repentance. And for every impossible situation we face, we ask that You would lead us safely through it.

When Abraham was 99-years-old, You told him that his wife would bare a son, and that he would be the father of many nations. When Moses and the Israelites had their back against the sea, You parted the waters and led them through safely. After Lazarus had been dead in the tomb for four days, Jesus commanded, “Lazarus, come forth,” and the dead man walked out.

When you led Ezekiel through the valley of dry bones, You asked him, “Can these bones live?”

His answer was, “Sovereign Lord, You alone know.” Ezekiel knew then what we know now–that You are sovereign over life and death, that You are able to rescue us from our sorrow, and that You are a God through which all things are possible.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: and I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord. – Ezekiel 37:4-6, KJV

Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath[a] enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’” – Ezekiel 37:4-6, NIV
