Marriage Prayer – He’s in Control at All Times
Dear Heavenly Father,
There’s a silver lining in every dark cloud, but we’re likely to miss it if we’re not looking up. If we’re not focused on You and trusting in You how could we possibly find any peace in this world?
David knew the beauty of leaning on You when in Psalm 121 he wrote, “He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber.” (verse 3)
We live in uncertain times, as we’re left wondering what tomorrow will bring–unsure if things will get worse. And yet, You’re unchanging. You’re the same God today as you were yesterday–the same faithful God that You will be tomorrow.
Help us to rest in that truth, Lord. Remind us that You’re in control at all times and that nothing happens apart from Your will.
In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. (Psalm 121:1-3, KJV)
I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber. (Psalm 121:1-3, NIV)
