Marriage Prayer – Peace is Only One Prayer Away

Dear Heavenly Father,

We don’t always know Your plan for our lives, but we know that You’re faithful.

We know that we can trust You with every part of our marriage, but sometimes it’s hard to let go and let You take control.

We worry, we stress out, we dwell on every “what if…” We’re discouraged when we don’t get our way. But in it all, and through it all, You see us safely through.

Don’t let the cares of this world steal our joy, Lord. Give us a deep sense of peace that doesn’t leave room for doubt and despair.

Your Word tells us that You “hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7) By Your Word, and through Your Spirit we find rest.

In the midst of this crazy and wild life that we live, remind us to stop and give thanks. When trials are heavy upon us, remind us to trust in Your strength. When sorrow is dragging us down, remind us that peace is only one prayer away.

In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: that the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory. – 1 Peter 1:6-8, KJV

In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy. – – 1 Peter 1:6-8, NIV
