Marriage Prayer – Putting Christ at the Centre

Dear Heavenly Father,

Grant us the wisdom to choose our steps wisely. Forgive us for all of those times we stepped out of Your will to follow our own self-desires. Forgive us for choosing our will over Your’s when temptation crept in.

Cleanse us from sin. Give us a renewed strength, and a hunger to walk in righteousness and truth.

We invite You in, Lord. Let Christ be at the center of all that we do and all that we are.

Take our hearts, our actions, our words, and our thoughts–bring them into obedience to Your will. Draw us close and we might hear and obey Your voice at all times.

Thank You, Lord for the amazing way that You love. Because of Your unfailing grace, the choices we made in the past don’t define us–the mistakes that we made are behind us.

In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. – 1 John 1:6-9

If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. – 1 John 1:6-9
