May We Always Give Thanks

May We Always Give Thanks – Today’s
Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

Each day we are thankful for the blessings You give — family, sunny days, good food, close friends, happiness, health, and a roof over our heads. Dirty laundry not so much — until we realize that these clothes are a gift. The reason we have a pile of laundry is that we are blessed with drawers full of clothes.

In the same way, we’re not thankful for dirty dishes until we’re reminded that we have food in the cupboards and much food in our tummies.

We’re not thankful for fingerprints all over the fridge until we’re reminded that wonderful people live in this home.

We’re not thankful for messy beds to make, and sheets to wash, until we’re reminded that we have comfortable beds to sleep in at night.

We’re not thankful for the mess in our living room until we’re reminded that life happens here.

One look around our home and we’re constantly reminded that life is good and that all things are worth giving thanks for. Through the ups and the downs, the clean and the messy, the good and the bad, the better or worse… may we always give thanks.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

This delightful and inspiring journal takes you on an exploration through the book of Hebrews. Insight, encouragement, and thought-provoking questions motivate you to dig deeper into scripture and hold fast to your faith. The words “better,” “greater,” and “more” appear frequently throughout Hebrews as the author sets out to show the reader that Christ is better than the angels, higher than the priests, and greater than any Old Testament prophet. The new covenant through the blood of Jesus Christ is superior in every way to that under the Levitical law. This literary masterpiece encourages us to grow, to press on in the face of affliction, and to grab hold of the gospel which we have been taught. From front to back, it explains who Christ is, what He’s done, and why He’s the only way to salvation.
