Quieting Your Heart – Advent Devotional Bible Study

Over the course of four weeks beginning Tuesday, November 28th, and leading up to Christmas, join me as we journey together through the rich biblical themes of Love, Joy, Hope, and Peace. Each day is a refreshing look at scripture, shedding light on timeless stories ranging from Jacob and Rachel’s enduring love to the inspiring resilience of Paul and Silas.

This advent-devotional Bible study is an invitation to rediscover the profound love of God, revealed in the humble birth of our Savior.

Karissa is also back to bless us each week with her insightful videos. If you would like more information on our study, visit our website.

The True Essence of Humility

The True Essence of Humility
– Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We ask that You guide our hearts to understand the true essence of humility — seeing ourselves through Your eyes and valuing each other as precious gifts from You. Help us to desire the quiet strength that comes from a humble spirit, which does not seek its own glory but looks to uplift and honor one another.

In times of misunderstanding or disagreement, remind us to approach each other with gentleness, putting aside pride and embracing understanding. May our words be seasoned with grace, our actions driven by love, and our attitudes reflective of the servant heart of Jesus.

Grant us the wisdom to recognize our need for You and for each other, breaking down walls of self-reliance. In humility, let us serve one another in love, finding joy in the happiness of the other, and strength in our shared faith.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. – 1 Peter 5:5-6, KJV

In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. – 1 Peter 5:5-6, NIV
