Quieting Your Heart – Advent Devotional Bible Study

Over the course of four weeks beginning Tuesday, November 28th, and leading up to Christmas, join me as we journey together through the rich biblical themes of Love, Joy, Hope, and Peace. Each day is a refreshing look at scripture, shedding light on timeless stories ranging from Jacob and Rachel’s enduring love to the inspiring resilience of Paul and Silas.

This advent-devotional Bible study is an invitation to rediscover the profound love of God, revealed in the humble birth of our Savior.

Karissa is also back to bless us each week with her insightful videos. If you would like more information on our study, visit our website.

To Put On Your Full Armor

To Put On Your Full Armor
– Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We humbly come before You, seeking Your strength and protection. Each day presents its own battles, and we pray for the wisdom to put on Your full armor that we may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the enemy.

Lord, cover our loins with truth, that in every word and action, honesty, and integrity may reign. Place upon our hearts the breastplate of righteousness, protecting us from the temptations that seek to move us from Your path. May our feet be shod with the readiness of the gospel of peace, that we may testify of Your Son through our words and actions.

May we carry the shield of faith, to quench the fiery darts of deceitful teaching. Fit us with the helmet of salvation, keeping our minds focused on Your truth and the hope of eternal life promised through Your Son, Jesus Christ.

Empower us with the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word, a tool not only for defense but for growth and wisdom. Help us to use it with discernment and love, nurturing our relationship and our journey with You.

In our marriage, Lord, may we support each other in wearing this spiritual armor daily. Together, let us stand strong in faith, united in love, and unwavering in our commitment to You and to each other.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. – Ephesians 6:10-17, KJV

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. – Ephesians 6:10-17, NIV
