The Desire To Be Tenderhearted –
Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with hearts open and spirits willing. We pray for the gift of tenderness, for hearts that beat with compassion and understanding towards one another.
Lord, in a world that can often be hard and cold, we ask You to cultivate within us a desire to be tenderhearted. Help us to see each other through Your eyes, with love and grace. May our words be gentle, our touch kind, and our attitudes reflective of Your own heart.
In moments of disagreement or frustration, remind us, Lord, to respond with softness and patience. Let us not be quick to anger, but quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry, as Your Word teaches us. May our home be a haven of peace and understanding, where empathy and kindness reign.
Guide us, Father, in the way we express our love. Help us to nurture our relationship with acts of care and affection. In moments of weakness, may we be each other’s strength; in moments of doubt, each other’s reassurance.
We thank You, God, for the gift of our spouse. We commit our marriage into Your loving hands. Lead us, guide us, and use us for Your glory.
In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
