Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
You have never left us in the dark regarding the topic of intimacy. Through scripture, You have given us clear instructions, written Your law upon our hearts, and provided us with a conscience to guide us.
Thank You for Your wisdom and guidance. Help us to honor both You and our marriage in this important area of our lives.
1 Corinthians 7:5 reminds us not to deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time. We understand the importance of mutual fulfillment, and we desire to be intimate with each other in the best way possible.
When we are tired, stressed, irritable, or distant, grant us the strength to work through our challenges so that we can be the intimate partners we need to be. Give us hearts of understanding and patience for each other.
May our hearts and minds remain pure, and our bed undefiled. Help us to focus on our marriage and turn away from worldly distractions. Guide us to eliminate any thoughts that would draw us away from Your perfect will and from each other.
In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
