Love Is Not Self-Serving – Today’s Marriage Prayer

We Are Currently Underway On Our New Study:
Jacob: Pursuing God With Steadfast Faith & Unyielding Courage

This new study will continue until August 20th. If you would like to join us, I encourage you to pick up a copy of the journal on Amazon. As we go through Jacob’s life story, chapter by chapter, we’ll see God’s plan of salvation, Christ’s work on the cross, and lessons rich in life application.

Karissa is back to bless us with her insightful videos. Together, we’re taking a deep dive into God’s Word and fostering an even closer fellowship among us all. If you’re not already taking part, I do hope you’ll consider joining us!

Love Is Not Self-Serving

Love Is Not Self-Serving –
Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

You created us in each our own way—so different, one from the other—yet somehow we fit together so perfectly well. Like two pieces of one complete puzzle we were created to be united as one.

But some days we don’t understand. We don’t get what makes the other one tick, and we’re frustrated when we don’t get our own way. Your word teaches us differently when in 1 Corinthians chapter 13 Paul writes, “Love is not self-seeking.”

Love doesn’t get angry when others do it wrong. But we’ve been impatient at times and self-centered at others. Help us to be understanding, Lord. Help us to appreciate the unique qualities that You have created in each of us. Grant us the patience to love as we’re growing, and the wisdom to support one another in the best way we can.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. – Psalm 139:13-16, KJV
