Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Teach us to love the way that we should–a husband and wife who are willing to give more than they get. Remind us not to dwell on past hurts, but to look forward in hope, treating one another with the utmost respect.
Give us the grace to be patient if we’re frustrated with each other, to be kind regardless of our circumstances, and to be gentle when we’re stressed out.
Words are powerful. Help us to use our words only in ways that edify and encourage each other. Grant us the wisdom to hold our tongues when we should.
It’s easy to treat one another well when life is going our way, but so often we’re challenged. Time and again, we are put to the test. We ask for Your grace and your strength during these times of testing, help us to fight for our marriage, and to always choose love.
In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
