That Our Actions Would Mirror The Words We Speak – Today’s Marriage Prayer
Hey Besties! Our next Bible study, Living Faithfully: A Journey Through James, is hot off the press and ready to go!
Unlike the recent studies we’ve done, James takes us into the New Testament, where we find practical ways to live out our faith in tangible ways.
James challenges us to put our faith into action, reminding us that “faith without works is dead” (James 2:14-26). He encourages us to seek wisdom from God, live righteously, and endure trials with patience, knowing that perseverance leads to maturity in our faith. James also teaches us about the power of our words, the importance of caring for those in need, and the necessity of living a life that reflects our faith in every area. It’s going to be a great study, and so I do home you’ll join us!
Without further ado, pick up a copy of the study guide on Amazon, mark your calendars for September 17th, and join us at timewarpwife.com as we take this journey through James!
P.S. If you’re looking for a Bible study that you can do together as a couple at home, this one is perfect (if your husband doesn’t mind the girly front cover). 😉
P.S.S. When you purchase a copy of the study guide, you’re helping to support our ministry, which in turn ensures that everyone has access to these Bible studies at no cost.
That Our Actions Would Mirror The Words We Speak –
Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
In a world that often values words over actions, it’s easy for us to forget that what we do can speak louder than what we say. We come before You asking for Your help to live lives that reflect Your love through both our words and deeds. Help us to sharpen one another in our marriage, encouraging growth in faith and Christ-likeness. May we be a light and an example to those around us, always seeking to be filled with compassion, love, and a deep desire to serve.
Your Word in Ephesians 4:29 instructs us to let our words edify, building each other up so that grace may flow from us to one another. We ask that You guide our hearts, aligning them with Yours so that our words stem from a place of love, truth, and wisdom. Let our actions be a reflection of the words we speak, so that both may testify to the work You are doing in our lives.
Lord, remind us to always speak gently, with kindness and wisdom. Let us be slow to anger and quick to listen, always seeking to speak in truth but with grace. May our words and actions harmonize in a way that brings honor to You and strengthens our relationship with one another.
In moments of challenge or misunderstanding, give us the patience and humility to respond in ways that mirror Your love and mercy. Let our marriage be a living testimony of Your goodness, as we strive to build each other up, both in faith and in love, reflecting Your heart in all that we do.
In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. – Ephesians 4:29, NIV
