Measuring Our Marriage By The World’s Standards –
Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

It’s so easy to get distracted by what we see around us. We find ourselves looking at other marriages, wishing for what we think they have, and comparing their highlight moments to our daily struggles. In doing this, we deceive ourselves into thinking that their lives are perfect, while we are left feeling like ours is lacking. Lord, remind us that every marriage faces challenges, and none are without flaws. Help us to see that comparison steals our joy and leads us away from the love and contentment You desire for us.

We pray that You would protect our hearts from the temptation to measure our marriage by the world’s standards—standards that are fleeting and often focused on appearances. Instead, help us to keep our eyes fixed on You, the One who designed marriage and knows what true love and commitment look like. Teach us to be patient with each other, especially in difficult moments, and to cultivate hearts filled with kindness and compassion.

Give us the wisdom to cherish the blessings we have and the strength to work through the challenges together. Help us build a marriage that honors You—a marriage filled with patience, gentleness, and mutual respect. We ask that You guide us daily in choosing love over criticism, unity over division, and gratitude over discontentment.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
