Help Us To Choose Joy

Help Us To Choose Joy — Today's Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

In the midst of life’s challenges, help us to choose joy—not because our circumstances are easy, but because You are faithful. Your Word reminds us in James 1:2-3 that trials are not wasted; they strengthen our faith and draw us closer to You.

When frustration creeps in, when burdens feel heavy, and when the path before us is unclear, remind us that joy is not found in perfect conditions but in trusting You completely. Help us to see each trial as an opportunity to grow—both in our faith and in our love for one another. May we encourage and uplift each other, offering grace in moments of weakness and patience in times of stress.

Lord, guard our hearts from negativity and discouragement. Let our home be filled with laughter, gratitude, and the deep, abiding joy that comes from walking with You. Teach us to lean on Your strength, to rejoice in the blessings of today, and to face tomorrow with hope.

Above all, may our marriage reflect the joy of knowing You, so that even in the hardest seasons, our love stands as a testimony of Your goodness.

Today’s Bible Verse

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. James 1:2-3, KJV

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. James 1:2-3, NIV
