To Walk Humbly In Our Marriage

To Walk Humbly In Our Marriage — Today's Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You with open hearts, asking that You would cultivate within us a heart of gentleness and a willingness to put one another first.

Lord, teach us to walk humbly in our marriage, just as Micah 6:8 calls us to—to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with You. Help us to lay down pride, selfishness, and the need to always be right. Instead, give us hearts that seek understanding, that listen before we speak, and that serve one another with kindness and grace.

When disagreements arise, remind us that love is not about winning an argument but about honoring one another in the way we communicate. May humility shape our words, soften our hearts, and strengthen our bond. Let us be quick to forgive, slow to anger, and eager to show mercy, just as You so freely extend it to us.

Above all, may our marriage be a reflection of Your love—a union built not on pride, but on humility, grace, and the deep joy of putting each other before ourselves.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. — Philippians 2:3, KJV

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves. — Philippians 2:3, NIV
