A Gentle And Quiet Spirit — Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
In a world that often values strength in terms of control and dominance, remind us that true strength is found in a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in Your sight (1 Peter 3:4).
Lord, shape our hearts to reflect Your kindness. When tempers rise and words come too quickly, help us to pause and respond with grace. May we be slow to anger and rich in love, seeking to understand each other rather than to be right. Let our words be soft and healing, building each other up rather than tearing down.
Teach us, O Lord, to love with patience and humility, to serve one another with tenderness, and to reflect Your peace in our home. Let our marriage be a place where gentleness is not mistaken for weakness, but recognized as a reflection of Your Spirit at work within us.
When challenges come, remind us that a gentle answer turns away wrath (Proverbs 15:1) and that through gentleness, we reflect the love of Christ. May our marriage be a testimony of Your goodness, a place of refuge and encouragement, where love flourishes through kindness, patience, and peace.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
