Renew Within Us A Steadfast Spirit — Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
In the words of David, we pray: “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10).
Lord, we know that marriage is a sacred reflection of Your love, yet we confess that at times, our hearts grow weary, our patience runs thin, and our love is tested. In those moments, cleanse our hearts, Lord. Remove any pride, resentment, or selfishness that hinders our peace. Let our love be marked by purity—untainted by bitterness, but overflowing with grace and kindness.
Father, renew within us a steadfast spirit—one that does not waver when trials arise. Strengthen our commitment to love each other not just in moments of joy, but also in seasons of struggle. Give us hearts that choose each other daily, just as You have chosen us. May our words build up and not tear down. May our actions reflect the covenant we have made before You.
Teach us to love as You love, to forgive as You forgive, and to serve as You serve. Keep our marriage rooted in You, our foundation unshaken, and our spirits steadfast in faithfulness.
We thank You, Lord, for the gift of each other. May our marriage be a testimony of Your redeeming power, a reflection of Your grace, and a light to those around us.
