Wrongs We Thought We Let Go Of — Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the grace You show us daily—for forgiving us completely and remembering our sins no more. Teach us to love each other with that same grace.
Sometimes, we find ourselves going back to old wounds—replaying words that hurt, moments we regret, and wrongs we thought we’d let go of. Help us to recognize when we’re holding on to the past and give us the strength to release it.
Remind us that true forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting, but it does mean choosing to move forward without keeping score. Soften our hearts when bitterness tries to settle in. Help us speak with kindness instead of blame, and to listen with understanding instead of judgment.
Let our marriage be a place where grace is lived out daily—a place where healing replaces hurt, and where love is stronger than memory. May we forgive as You have forgiven us, and walk together in peace.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Today’s Bible Verse
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you. — Ephesians 4:31–32, KJV
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. — Ephesians 4:31–32, NIV
