A Teachable Spirit — Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of marriage and for the ways You use it to shape our hearts. Some days it’s easy to love well, and other days we’re reminded just how much we need Your help. Lord, we ask for humble hearts—hearts that are willing to listen, to learn, and to grow. Teach us to let go of pride, to stop keeping score, and to consider one another’s needs above our own.
Give us a teachable spirit, not just with each other, but with You. Help us to receive correction with grace, and to speak truth in love. Soften us, Lord, where we’ve become hard. Open our ears to really hear, and our hearts to truly understand.
May we always be willing to ask, “What can I do better?” and be ready to take the next step toward unity. We want our marriage to reflect Your patience, Your kindness, and Your grace.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. — James 1:19, NIV
