Teach Us To Be Peacemakers — Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
We want to be a couple who brings peace into every room we enter—not just with others, but especially with each other. Sometimes our emotions get the best of us. Sometimes pride steps in. And in those moments, it’s easy to forget the power of gentleness.
Teach us to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. Remind us that peace doesn’t always mean silence—it means pursuing understanding over being right. It means choosing kindness even when it’s hard. It means being willing to take a step back and ask, “What does love look like right now?”
Help us to create a home that reflects Your heart—a place where forgiveness flows freely, where grace is extended often, and where peace is guarded carefully. Let our marriage be a safe place, not just for us, but for anyone who walks through our doors.
Most of all, help us to walk in step with Your Spirit, who brings true peace that passes understanding. Make us peacemakers, Lord, so that in a world full of tension, our lives would reflect the unity You desire.
