A humble heart in our home

A Humble Heart in Our Home - Today's Marriage Prayer

Dear heavenly Father,

Sometimes pride tries to sneak in—through defensiveness, through comparison, or just wanting to have the last word. But we know that pride creates distance, and humility draws us close.

Teach us to walk humbly with You and with each other. Help us to be quick to admit when we’re wrong, and just as quick to forgive. Give us hearts that are teachable, not stubborn. Gentle, not sharp.

Let us lead with kindness instead of control. Let us listen to understand, not just to respond. And let our home be one where grace flows freely, where we serve each other out of love, not obligation.

We want to reflect Your heart in the way we live and love—not just in the big, noticeable ways, but in the quiet, daily choices that no one else sees.

We ask that You keep us grounded, Lord. Keep us kind. Keep us humble.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.Micah 6:8, NIV
