Dear heavenly Father,

You’ve given us marriage as a gift for this life, but it’s also a reminder of something greater—the day when Christ will be united with His bride, the church. Our love here is only a glimpse of the eternal love that waits for us in Your presence.

Keep that perspective before us, Lord. Help us to love one another in ways that prepare our hearts for eternity—with faithfulness, with purity, with a longing for You above all else. When we grow distracted by temporary things, draw our eyes back to the everlasting hope we share in Christ.

May our marriage be a rehearsal for the joy of heaven, where every promise is fulfilled and every tear is wiped away. Until then, let our covenant here reflect the beauty of the greater union to come.
