Teach Us to Love With Eternal Perspective — Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
We thank You for the love You’ve entrusted to us—a love meant to grow, to deepen, and to reflect Christ more with each passing day. We ask that You teach us to love with an eternal perspective. When our focus drifts toward temporary frustrations or passing emotions, remind us that the work You are doing within our marriage reaches far beyond the moment we are in.
Help us see that patience today shapes character tomorrow, that grace offered now plants seeds of peace, and that humility in this season prepares us for what You are building in the next. We ask that You lift our eyes above the immediate so we can love with intention, wisdom, and faith.
Lord, teach us to value what lasts: faithfulness, compassion, forgiveness, and the quiet acts of love that honor You even when no one else sees. Make us mindful that our marriage is part of Your greater work within us—forming Christlike hearts, shaping steadfast love, and preparing us for eternity with You.
We ask that our love be guided not by impulse, but by truth; not by emotion alone, but by devotion; not by what is easy, but by what brings You glory. Anchor our hearts in what endures.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
