Teach Us to Live Out the Heart of the Lord’s Prayer — Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
We thank You for the way Jesus taught us to pray—with reverence, with dependence, and with trust in Your perfect care. We ask that You help us live out the heart of that prayer within our marriage. Teach us to honor You in all we do, placing Your will above our own desires or emotions. Help us to depend on You for our daily needs—not only for provision, but for the patience, wisdom, and grace we require to love one another well. Remind us that every good thing we have comes from Your hand, and that our strength is renewed when we look to You instead of relying solely on ourselves.
Lord, teach us to practice forgiveness in the same spirit Jesus modeled. Help us release past frustrations, extend grace freely, and walk in humility when we fall short. Protect our marriage from temptations that would harm our unity. Keep our hearts alert and our minds rooted in truth so we recognize and resist anything that leads us away from peace.
We ask that You guide our marriage with Your loving authority—shaping our attitudes, directing our steps, and drawing us closer to You as we learn to seek Your kingdom above all else.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
