Learning to Be Gentle With One Another’s Weaknesses — Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
Thank You for bringing two imperfect people together and calling us to walk side by side. You know our strengths, but You also see our weaknesses, the places where we struggle, grow slowly, and need grace.
Teach us to handle each other’s weaknesses with gentleness. When we see areas where our spouse falls short, guard us from impatience. Help us remember how patiently You continue to work in our own lives.
Lord, give us compassion where criticism might easily rise. Help us speak with care when encouragement is needed and show restraint when frustration appears. Let our marriage be a place where growth is supported, not pressured.
When one of us feels discouraged by personal struggles, let the other bring reassurance rather than judgment. Remind us that transformation is Your work, and it often unfolds slowly through time.
Father, keep pride from convincing us that we are stronger than we truly are. Let humility guide our responses. Help us see our spouse not as a project to fix, but as a person You are faithfully shaping.
May our home be marked by patience, understanding, and quiet grace. And as we learn to bear with one another, may our love reflect the mercy You have shown us.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
