Pursuing Peace Together

Pursuing Peace Together — Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear heavenly Father,

Your Word calls us to seek peace and pursue it. Not to wait for it, not to hope it appears on its own—but to go after it with intention.

Teach us to pursue peace.

When tension begins to rise, remind us to move toward peace, not away from it. When misunderstandings happen, give us the humility to address them with care instead of letting them linger.

Lord, help us not to ignore what needs attention, but to handle it wisely. Let our desire for peace guide our tone, our timing, and our responses.

Give us patience when conversations are difficult.
Give us restraint when emotions feel strong.
Give us wisdom to know when to speak and when to pause.

Father, guard our hearts from choosing silence that creates distance or words that create division. Instead, lead us into conversations that bring clarity, healing, and unity.

Make our marriage a place where peace is not fragile, but protected—where it is valued, nurtured, and strengthened over time.

Help us walk toward one another, even when it feels easier to pull away.

And in doing so, let peace take root in our home.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
