A Heart That Reflects Christ

A Heart That Reflects Christ — Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear heavenly Father,

We come before You today, recognizing how often we fall short in the way we love each other. You have called us to reflect Christ in our marriage, yet too often we hold on to pride, speak too quickly, or choose our own way instead of Yours.

Lord, we ask that You would shape our hearts. Teach us what it means to lay down our lives as Christ laid down His for us. When we are tempted to be selfish, remind us of the grace we’ve been given. When we are hurt, help us to respond with mercy. When we are weak, strengthen us by Your Spirit.

Help us to remember that love is not something we manufacture on our own, but something that flows from abiding in You. Draw us closer to Christ so that our words, our actions, and our thoughts reflect His character more and more.

May our marriage be a place where Your love is seen clearly—not because we are perfect, but because You are at work within us.

We trust You to continue that work in us today.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
