A Decision We Make Every Day – Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Choosing joy—it’s a decision that we make every day. Some days it’s easy, but some days it takes everything that we have just to muster a smile. When we bring a sense of joy into our marriage we invest in our future. It changes the atmosphere in our home, and it impacts each other.
Help us to grab hold of joy. Fill us to overflowing with hope and peace so that we might share in our joy together. As we pray for our marriage today, we also remember others around us who struggle with depression and battle anxiety.
We stand in the gap for them, Lord. We know it’s not simply a matter of feigning a smile or shaking it off. This is a real struggle for many who want nothing more than to let go of the pain. Bring healing to each and everyone who is suffering. Release the chains that bind them, lift the darkness that weighs heavily upon them. Remind them how loved and how cherished they are.
In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
Bible Verse of the Day
I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. – Psalm 40:1-3, KJV
I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him. – Psalm 40:1-3, NIV
