A Heart That Forgives

A Heart That Forgives - Today's Marriage Prayer

Dear heavenly Father,

Some days we mess up. We say things we don’t mean, or we stay quiet when we should speak with kindness. Hurt creeps in, and before we know it, there’s a little more distance than we ever meant to allow.

But You’ve shown us a better way. You’ve forgiven us more times than we can count—and You ask us to do the same for each other.

So today, Lord, help us let go of anything we’re still holding onto. The little things, the big things… the stuff we’ve brushed aside but haven’t really healed from. Give us hearts that are quick to forgive and slow to take offense.

Help us to see one another with compassion. To say “I’m sorry” without pride and “I forgive you” without hesitation. Make our marriage a safe place to be honest, to grow, and to start again when we need to.

We know that real love—lasting love—is rooted in grace. Let that be the soil we grow in, day after day.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
