A Marriage That Chooses Contentment — Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
We come before You today, aware of how easily our hearts can become restless. It doesn’t take much to begin comparing, wishing, or focusing on what feels lacking instead of what You’ve already given.
Teach us contentment.
Help us to rest in the life You’ve provided, trusting that You are good and that Your ways are right. Guard us from the quiet pull of comparison that steals joy and creates distance. Remind us that what we have in You is more than enough.
Lord, we ask that You would steady our hearts.
When we feel dissatisfied, turn our eyes back to Your goodness.
When we’re tempted to compare, remind us of Your unique work in our lives.
When we begin to lose perspective, anchor us in truth.
Give us grateful hearts.
To appreciate one another as we are.
To value the life we’re building together.
To find joy in the everyday moments You’ve given us.
Shape our marriage through contentment.
Let it quiet unnecessary striving and replace it with peace. Let it deepen our gratitude and strengthen our connection as we learn to be satisfied in You.
Draw us closer to Christ, in whom we have everything we truly need. As we walk with Him, teach us to live with a quiet contentment that reflects trust in You.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
