A Marriage That Grows in Patience — Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
We come before You today, aware of how quickly impatience can rise within us. In the middle of busy days and unmet expectations, we can grow frustrated with each other, forgetting how much grace we ourselves have received.
Teach us patience.
Help us to slow down in our responses and to give one another room to grow. Remind us that You are still at work in both of us, shaping, refining, and drawing us closer to Christ day by day.
Lord, we ask that You would steady our hearts.
When we feel rushed, help us to wait.
When we feel irritated, help us to respond with gentleness.
When we feel discouraged, remind us that growth often takes time.
Give us a deeper understanding of one another.
To listen without interrupting.
To respond without sharpness.
To remain present, even when it would be easier to withdraw.
Shape our marriage with this kind of patience.
A patience that reflects Your kindness toward us. A patience that endures through challenges and strengthens the bond we share. Let it soften our words, guide our actions, and bring peace into our home.
Draw us closer to Christ, who is patient with us in every season. As we walk with Him, teach us to extend that same patience to one another.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
