A Marriage That Honors One Another — Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
We come before You today, knowing how easy it is to take one another for granted. We can become so familiar with each other’s presence, help, and faithfulness that we forget to pause and show honor where honor is due.
Lord, teach us to value one another well.
Help us to see each other as gifts from Your hand, not as interruptions, burdens, or background noise in a busy life. Give us hearts that are quick to appreciate, quick to encourage, and quick to treat one another with tenderness and respect.
Keep us from careless words.
Keep us from dismissive attitudes.
Keep us from letting pride shape the way we respond.
Teach us to honor one another in the ordinary moments—in the way we listen, the way we speak, the way we serve, and the way we make room for each other’s needs.
When we are tired, help us to remain thoughtful. When we disagree, help us to stay gentle. When we feel overlooked, remind us to love with humility and grace.
Let our marriage be marked by kindness, respect, and sincere affection. May the way we treat one another reflect the love of Christ, who humbled Himself and served with perfect love.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
