A Marriage That Keeps Its Heart Soft — Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
We come before You today, knowing that joy is not always our first response. There are days when burdens feel heavy, when routines feel draining, and when it’s easier to focus on what’s wrong than to notice what is good.
Teach us to choose joy.
Not a fleeting happiness, but a steady joy rooted in You. Help us to remember that our joy does not depend on circumstances, but on the unchanging truth of who You are and what You’ve done for us through Christ.
Lord, we ask that You would lift our perspective.
When discouragement settles in, remind us of Your goodness.
When stress fills our days, help us to pause and give thanks.
When we feel worn, renew our strength in You.
Let joy find its place in our marriage.
In the way we speak.
In the way we respond.
In the way we share even the simplest moments together.
Guard us from becoming weighed down by constant seriousness or frustration. Instead, help us to notice the blessings You’ve given and to rejoice in them with grateful hearts.
Draw us closer to Christ, where true joy is found. As we walk with Him, may His joy fill our hearts and overflow into our home, bringing light, warmth, and strength to our relationship.
