A Marriage That Pursues Peace

A Marriage That Pursues Peace — Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear heavenly Father,

We come before You knowing how easily tension can rise between us. Small misunderstandings, unmet expectations, and the pressures of daily life can quietly stir up conflict if we’re not careful.

Teach us to pursue peace.

Your Word calls us to make every effort to live in peace, and yet we confess how often we protect our own position instead of seeking unity. Help us to recognize when our hearts are drifting toward frustration, and turn us back before words or attitudes take root.

Give us wisdom in how we respond to one another.

When disagreements come, guide us to speak with gentleness and to listen with care. Guard us from harshness, defensiveness, and the need to win. Instead, grow in us a desire to understand, to reconcile, and to move forward together.

Lord, we ask that You would establish peace within our home.

Not a surface calm, but a steady, lasting peace grounded in Your truth. Teach us to address what needs to be addressed, but to do so with humility and grace. Let forgiveness come quickly, and let love remain constant.

Draw us closer to Christ, who is our peace. As we walk with Him, shape our hearts to reflect His patience and His kindness. May our marriage be a place where peace is not only found, but faithfully pursued.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
