A Marriage That Reflects Christ

A Marriage That Reflects Christ — Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear heavenly Father,

We come before You today with a simple desire—that our marriage would reflect Christ. Not just in what we say, but in how we live, how we love, and how we respond to one another each day.

Shape us to be more like Him.

Teach us to walk in love, even when it requires sacrifice. Help us to lay aside selfishness and to choose what builds one another up. Remind us that we are called to something higher than comfort—we are called to reflect Your Son.

Lord, we ask that You would transform us from the inside out.

Let our thoughts be guided by Your truth.
Let our words be marked by grace.
Let our actions reflect humility and care.

Help us to love with intention.

To forgive quickly.
To serve willingly.
To remain faithful, even in the ordinary moments that often go unseen.

Shape our marriage into a living example of Your love.

Not perfect, but growing. Not without struggle, but grounded in truth. Let others see something different in the way we care for one another—a quiet reflection of Christ at work within us.

Draw us closer to Christ, that His character would be formed in us more and more. May our marriage bring honor to You in both the big moments and the small.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. — Ephesians 5:1–2, KJV

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 5:1–2, NIV
