A Marriage That Serves One Another — Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
We come before You today, aware of how easy it is to think about our own needs first. In the middle of responsibilities and expectations, we can begin to measure what we’re receiving instead of considering how we are giving.
Turn our hearts toward service.
Teach us to follow the example of Christ, who came not to be served, but to serve. Help us to look for opportunities to care for one another in practical, meaningful ways—not out of obligation, but out of love.
Lord, we ask that You would reshape our perspective.
When we feel overlooked, remind us that You see.
When we feel tired, strengthen us to keep doing good.
When we are tempted to keep score, lead us to give freely instead.
Give us willing hearts.
To serve in the small things that often go unnoticed.
To meet needs without being asked.
To act with kindness, even when it isn’t returned right away.
Shape our marriage through this kind of love.
A love that moves, that gives, that considers the other. Let service become a quiet strength in our relationship—building trust, deepening care, and reflecting Your heart.
Draw us closer to Christ, who humbled Himself and gave fully. As we follow Him, teach us to serve one another with sincerity and joy.
