A Marriage That Walks in Humility — Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
We come before You with the awareness that pride can quietly take root in our hearts. It shows up in the need to be right, the reluctance to apologize, and the desire to be understood without first seeking to understand. Left unchecked, it creates distance where there should be unity.
Teach us to walk in humility.
Help us to see ourselves rightly—not above one another, but as two people in need of Your grace each day. Give us hearts that are willing to yield, to listen, and to consider one another with sincerity. When pride rises up, make us quick to recognize it and quicker still to turn away from it.
Lord, we ask that You would shape our attitudes to reflect Christ.
He humbled Himself, choosing obedience and love even when it cost Him everything. Form that same spirit within us. Let us not cling to our own way, but be willing to serve one another in love.
Guard our marriage from the strain that comes when pride leads.
Instead, build a foundation of gentleness and mutual respect. Teach us to confess our faults without excuse and to extend grace without hesitation. In doing so, strengthen the bond between us and bring honor to Your name.
Draw us closer to Christ, that His example would guide us daily. May our home reflect a quiet strength rooted in humility and a willingness to put one another first.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
