A Meek And Quiet Spirit – Today’s Marriage Prayer
A Meek And Quiet Spirit –
Today’s Marriage Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Your Word teaches us that a meek and quiet spirit is of great value in Your sight (1 Peter 3:4). We recognize how crucial these qualities are for nurturing a strong and loving marriage. Lord, we ask that You help us embody gentleness, meekness, and grace in our relationship with one another.
You have shown us countless times how tenderly You handle our hearts. Even in our darkest moments, Your hands have reached out to us with forgiveness and compassion.
You are the Potter, and we are the clay. In Your wisdom, You mold us, even when the process is uncomfortable or painful. We trust that when You break us down, it is only to build us up stronger, more aligned with Your will, and better equipped to love each other as You intend.
Lord, we confess that there are times when we are careless, thinking only of ourselves rather than each other. We know this is not how You have called us to live. We long to follow the example of our Savior, Jesus, who humbly served those He loved with a heart full of grace and humility. Teach us, Lord, to be meek and lowly in heart, learning from Him how to love selflessly and serve one another with joy.
May our marriage be a reflection of Your love, marked by kindness, patience, and the gentle spirit that pleases You. Help us to continually grow in these virtues, drawing closer to each other as we draw closer to You.
In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Today’s Bible Verse
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. – Matthew 11:28-30, KJV
