As Christ Served the Church –
Today’s Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We want to serve each other as Christ served the church. Not because we have to, but because we want to bring glory and honor to You.

Even when life was difficult, and death was imminent Jesus said, “Not my will, but Thine be done.”

What is hindering our walk? What is slowing us down? What is holding us back from serving You? Whatever inhibits our growth has no place in our lives.

We came into this marriage with the hope of giving our best. What we’ve come to learn is that when we love You with all of our heart, we love each other with all of our strength.

You’re the source of our goodness, our strength, and our hope. It’s by You that we’re learning to love. It’s in You that we find what true love really is.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. – Matthew 20:27-28, KJV

And whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. – Matthew 20:27-28, NIV
