When Love Feels Distant - Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
We know love isn’t always loud or dramatic. Sometimes it’s quiet… steady… and sometimes it fades a little without us even noticing. The connection we once felt so strongly can feel strained or tired—not because we don’t care, but because life has worn us thin.
But You are the God who restores what feels lost. You’re the One who reminds us where we began—and invites us to return.
Bring us back to the sweetness of simple things. A shared laugh. A kind word. A quiet prayer. Help us remember why we fell in love in the first place—and show us how to love each other even better now.
If we’ve been distant, draw us close. If we’ve grown cold, rekindle the flame. And if we’ve been too busy to notice, help us slow down long enough to see and cherish one another again.
Thank You that love doesn’t have to feel perfect to be real. It just needs to be tended with patience, grace, and a heart that’s willing to try again.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works… — Revelation 2:4–5, KJV

Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. — Revelation 2:4–5 NIV
