Looking Forward to the Reunion - Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
There are people we love who are no longer here—family, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ—whose absence we feel in quiet moments. Sometimes our hearts ache with the longing to see them again.
Thank You for the promise that in Christ, death is not the end. One day, we will stand in Your presence, reunited with those who have gone before us. The tears will be gone, the goodbyes will be no more, and the joy will be complete.
Until that day comes, help us live our marriage in a way that honors that hope. Let our love for each other reflect the truth that every day is a gift. Let us speak words worth remembering and spend our time on what truly matters.
Keep our eyes fixed on You, Lord, so that when that great Day of the Lord comes, we’ll be ready.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Today’s Bible Verse
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. — 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17, KJV

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. — 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17, NIV
