Love Is Something That Must Be Shown

Love Is Something That Must Be Shown — Today's Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

It’s easy to assume that love is understood, but we know that love is something that must be shown, nurtured, and spoken. Help us to express our love in ways that bring joy and reassurance to each other’s hearts.

Teach us to say “I love you” not just with words, but through our actions. In the small kindnesses—like a gentle touch, a thoughtful gesture, or a listening ear—let our love be known. May our patience, forgiveness, and encouragement speak louder than any grand display.

Lord, give us wisdom to love each other in the way we each need to be loved. Open our eyes to the little things that make a big difference—a note of appreciation, a warm embrace, a moment of undivided attention. Let our love be evident in the way we serve, in the way we speak, and in the way we choose each other every day.

Help us to honor You in our love, to reflect Your grace in our words, and to grow stronger together. May our love be a testimony of Your faithfulness, a light to those around us, and a reminder that love is more than a feeling—it is a choice we make every day.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. — 1 John 3:18, KJV

Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. — 1 John 3:18, NIV
