To Be Careful With Our Opinions — Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
In a world that pulls our attention in so many directions, help us to focus on what You’ve placed in front of us—our own hearts, our home, and the covenant we’ve made with each other.
Teach us to be wise with our words and careful with our opinions. Help us to resist the urge to compare our marriage to others or to get drawn into conversations that stir up gossip or judgment. Remind us that we don’t need to know every detail or weigh in on every situation. Instead, let us be people who seek peace, who build up, and who stay faithful to the work You’ve given us to do in our own lives.
When pride tempts us to meddle or control, quiet our hearts and remind us that You are sovereign. Help us to show grace to each other and to those around us, keeping our eyes on You and our feet grounded in love.
Lord, may our marriage be a place where humility is honored and peace is protected. Let us be quick to listen, slow to speak, and eager to live a quiet life that pleases You.
