Prayer Changes Things

Prayer Changes Things — Today's Marriage Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the gift of prayer—that open invitation to sit in Your presence, to speak from the heart, and to find peace in knowing You are near. You’ve reminded us again and again that prayer changes things. But sometimes, we forget how much it also changes us—especially when we come to You together.

Life can pull us in a dozen directions. We fall into routines, handle our responsibilities, and sometimes settle into silence when we should be seeking You side by side. Lord, help us make prayer a part of our daily life—not just in moments of crisis, but in the calm. Not just before meals or at church, but in the quiet moments at home—when no one is watching but You.

Help us grow comfortable praying together. Even if the words feel clumsy or short, remind us that You’re not looking for polished prayers. You’re looking for hearts that are humble, honest, and open.

Let prayer become a safe place for us to connect—not just with You, but with each other. Give us the grace to pray through disagreements, the faith to pray over our future, and the joy of celebrating answered prayer together.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.Ecclesiastes 4:12, KJV

Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12, NIV
