To Sharpen Each Other — Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
Thank You for bringing us together—not just as husband and wife, but as two people being shaped into Your likeness. We know that marriage isn’t just about happiness; it’s about holiness. It’s about learning patience, kindness, humility, and forgiveness through Your Word—all the things that make us more like Jesus.
Help us, Lord, to sharpen each other in love. Teach us to challenge each other gently, to encourage each other faithfully, and to forgive each other quickly. Show us how to walk side by side—not pulling ahead, not falling behind, but growing together every step of the way.
We want a marriage that reflects You. Fill our home with grace, our words with gentleness, and our actions with compassion. And when it’s hard—when our differences feel bigger than our love—remind us that You are the One holding us together. Keep molding us, day by day, into the image of Christ.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
