Helping Each Other Persevere — Today's Marriage Prayer
Dear heavenly Father,
Some days the race feels long. We grow tired, distracted, and sometimes discouraged. But You’ve called us to run this race together—not just side by side, but hand in hand, helping each other press on.
Help us to be encouragers when one of us is weary. Help us to lift each other up when the weight of life feels too heavy. Remind us that this isn’t about who runs faster or who stumbles less—it’s about finishing the race together, with our eyes fixed on You.
Teach us to speak life when it’s easier to complain, to pray when we’re tempted to give up, and to stay faithful even in the slow, quiet miles.
Thank You for the gift of each other. Thank You that we don’t have to do this alone. We ask that You give us strength, deepen our love, and give us the perseverance we need to keep running the race You’ve set before us—side by side, all the way to the finish line.
In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Today’s Bible Verse
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. — Hebrews 12:1–2, KJV
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,
fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. — Hebrews 12:1–2, NIV
