To Walk in Humility

To Walk in Humility - Today's Marriage Prayers

Dear heavenly Father,

Thank You for the love that binds us together. In a world that so often encourages us to put ourselves first, You gently remind us that real love puts the other person ahead.

Teach us to walk in humility—not as a weakness, but as a strength. Help us to be quick to listen, slow to defend ourselves, and willing to put one another’s needs above our own. Show us how to serve without keeping score, and how to apologize without hesitation or pride.

When we feel misunderstood or overlooked, give us grace. When we’re tempted to prove a point, remind us that peace and understanding matter more than being right.

Let our marriage reflect the heart of Christ—who humbled Himself for the sake of love. And may that same spirit shape the way we speak, serve, and grow together each day.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Today’s Bible Verse

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.Philippians 2:3–4, KJV

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.Philippians 2:3–4, NIV
